February 25th 2012  Spicewood Vineyards 4th annual Pair it with the Claret Chili Cook-Off 

Spicewood, TX - Come out and join us for our biggest wine celebration of the year. What else could one want on a Texas February afternoon? Texas wine, hot chili, live music and the Hill Country views. This is our largest and loudest party of the year, where our contestants try their hand at paring their own chili with our 2010 Cabernet Claret. Spicewood, TX - Spicewood Vineyards and Run In Texas present the Spicewood Vineyards 3rd Annual 1/2 Marathon and 10K benefiting Toys for Tots.

Come experience running in the Hill Country Hills. Both chip timed races start and finish at Spicewood Vineyards tasting room. The race runs along a challenging out and back course along scenic farm roads in Burnet County.

There are 3 fully stocked water stops along the course that will be hit twice (6 stops) each for the 1/2 Marathon and 2 water stops hit twice (4 stops) each for the 10K. Post race festivities include wine tasting and delicious catered post race food conducive to fine wine tasting.

All runners receive a technical shirt and etched wine glass with race logo, and delicious food. This is a BIG bang for the buck! Please visit www.runintexas.com for race entry and more details.

Please be in the Christmas spirit and help us in supporting the Marine’s Toys for Tots by bringing a monetary donation or giving a gently used or new toy to Spicewood Vineyards on December 3rd. We will have drop boxes available at the start / finish area.

To make ANY kind of Chili that BEST PAIRS with our Cabernet Claret. Each entrant will be shipped 2 bottles and the rest is up to you.
Chili judging will be conducted by a panel of diverse wine and food professionals. Read More Here

The first 40 entrants to call and sign up, or send the completed form below with credit card info to bill the $40.00 entrance fee will be the competitors. We are encouraging EVERYONE to think about entering, EVEN IF YOU HAVE NOT ENTERED A CHILI COOK-OFF before. GOOD LUCK and send us those entries.

 

 



Gringo Graffiti and other works by stencil artist Taylor Randolph Perry

Gringo Graffiti and other works by stencil artist Taylor Randolph Perry will be on display in his debut exhibition at Spicewood Vineyards in the picturesque hill county in Spicewood, Texas.

One of his installations is Los Gallos, featuring the artist's unique blending of concrete, spray paint, metal, cut paper shapes, heat and stain.

The show opens on November 6th with an artist reception on November 7th from 1-5 p.m. and on November 8th from 1 - 3 p.m.
 

The show will remain at Spicewood Vineyards through May 2010

Put Friday September 25th on your calendars now because we are proud to announce an association with The Hill Country Theater of Cottonwood Shores, Texas and our first joint venture is an evening of "Shakespeare At The Vineyard". They are performing "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged Edition" - a parody of many of The Bard's plays.

2nd Annual Pig Roast - Saturday April 4th, 2009

Pictures from the Pig Roast

A big thanks to everyone who came out and made the Pig Roast (or Wine with Swine as one of our guests called it!) such a successful evening.
The pigs were perfectly cooked by Ronnie and Jeff and the side dishes were a hit. It was great to see everyone sitting out under the oak trees and as dusk fell and the candles were lit it was a magical sight. The music was great and if you were not able to come this year, remember to check our calendar next spring and make a point to join us then.
